The surroundings of Mons la Trivalle are offering countless choises. There will be something for you which you can enjoy. Nevertheless, we've picked out a few activities, which we consider worth mentioning. But it doesn't stop there. Please do ask your host and hostess or the local " Office du Tourisme" in la Trivalle

Walking and climbing:
For many people the 'Parc Naturel du Haut Languedoc' is especially attrictive because of the beautiful pahs and climbing - routes.
A experienced walker knows his or her limits, but for those of us who aren't that experienced it is good know that in this countryside the trails and paths can be more of a challenche then one would expect.
The defile of the Gorges d'Heric is obligation to all because of its sheer beauty. One can choose between fairly easy paths and more demanding trails. Enjoy the vastness of these mountains and the very clear water in the brooklets. The 'Office de tourisme' has maps for those hiking paths.

The mountainsides of the Gorges d'Heric (part of theCaroux-mountains) are very suitable for climbing. All those sporting activites provide for good stories at the end of the, enjoyinhg a glass of French wine listening to them.

Mountainbiking:
Of course one can mountainbike very well in these surroundings.It is called in French: Velo Tout Terrain (VTT). You can rent bikes.

Canoe, rafting and other watersports
The " Orb" is an ideal river to canoe. Renting a canoe is no problem for instance in Tarrasac, a well known place for canoers. Tarrasac is only a few miles away from Mons la Trivalle.

Fishing:On practical all of the menus one reads: fresh trout. It is fished from the Jaur. This river is popular among fisherman.

Golf
Just outside the village of Lamalou les Bains lies a golfcourse. If you enjoy playing golf. then bring your clubs along.

Villages
We can only just a few, because there are so many - which means that you yourself can discover your favourite yet unknown places.

Olargues A beatiful little village with an old Roman bridge crossing the Orb. The tower, which you can see from quite a distance, stems from the 11th century. Walking towards it provides you with a breathtaking view on this river

Lamalou les bains is famous for its healing waterwells. It attracs many people who want to benfit from these healing powers. The village also has a casino, cinema, theater and a nice shoppingarea.

Herepian is almost ' attached' to Bedarieux and you'll find the Musee de la Cloche de la Sonnaille. Every first sunday of the month there is a so called creative market on the Place E.Pascal. In winter this is held at the salle Marcel Pagnol. The market is open from 8.30 a.m. till 7.00 pm.

Roquebrun has the 'Jardin Mediterraneen de Roquebrun'since 1985 - an extraordinairy botanic garden with exotic plants and a mediterran orchard. All plants and trees are grown in the open air.

Bedarieux is a nice town, situated on the Orb. You can go shopping and each monday visit a market with lost of fresh regional products like honey, preserved chestnuts, truffles, olive-oil, special vinegars etc

St. Pons de Thomieres has a partly Spanish history. It has a cathedral and a museum on pre-historic time. In the formerly garden of the Abby Benedictines are many statues. Marmor is an important source of income for the village. Each wednesday there is a market.

SUMMER:
Each summer there are many festivals, concerts, happenings to visit.
